So my husband came home the other day and said he might have an opportunity with the company he’s working for, to expand it to another city (because for right now it’s just in the Charlotte area mostly). His boss said that he’d like to grow his business to some city like Raleigh or Atlanta (somewhere still close to Charlotte) which would mean we would have to move our family there. Again, this is just a dream of his boss’ so it’s not something that will happen or has to happen. The thing that scares me is that I have a 2 year old and 7 month old and both of our families are less than 30 minutes away and we see them a lot and I rely on mom a lot and I think that’s what scares me the most. I would of course probably not be working if we did move (because right now I only work mornings and would want a place like that but really probably couldn’t afford daycare) so I wouldn’t need to rely on my parents to watch the kids if needed, but I would be moving to a new city where we didn’t know anyone. Has anyone relocated and what was your experience? Also, would you choose Raleigh or Atlanta for a young family?

What city in North Carolina would have beautiful mountains, and white water rafting all nearby? My parents and I would like to go to NC and stay in a hotel that had beautiful mountains and white water rafting within 30 minutes of the hotel. I want to go Orlando with my parents sometime soon. I have a question for you. Why did 9/11 happen? What airline is safe and can take me and my parents to Orlando Florida from Charlotte North Carolina? I am 16 years old and I too scared to fly after 9/11. Am I allowed to take a laptop, cd player, and a nintendo DS onboard the plane? I been to Orlando once when I was 8 years old and now I wanted to go back to Orlando. What things can I pack in my bookbag that has my Star Wars keychain on it? I am too scared to fly and I flew to Baltimore this year and I was soo scared! Should I take a book with me? Do I need a photo ID? I will ask my parents to go with me to Orlando soon so I will not be scared. What should I do to keep me calm? I am too scared to fly again after September 11, 2001! The girl is 7 months away from her 18th birthday and is also pregnant with his child. They’ve been together for a couple years and her parents know all about their relationship and the baby on the way,but they don’t like the idea. They keep giving the girl a hard time at home(she still lives with them). They have stressed her so much that she almost lost the baby.

Can he marry her(not just because of the situation but because he loves her) without her parents consent?

I think it is 18 even though people say different. I had a friend who married at 17 but her parents had to sign for her which would mean she wasn’t of age, right? I also have heard that at 17 if you leave home, the police upon request from the parent could return you home which again would lead me to think that 17 is not the legal age. I live in lower Westchester County, New York, and I’m fourteen years old. My parents say we might have to move to Florida, which I am REALLY REALLY REALLY against for so many reasons. However, we can’t move if we cannot sell our house, which to me seems unlikely considering the economic climate in respect to the real estate industry. What do you think the chances of selling a medium sized home (3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, unfinished basement/attic) in lower Westchester in this recession? I mean we have family friends that couldn’t even sell their house two years ago in our town when the economy wasn’t as bad as it is now.

I am in the beginning processes of relocating to Charlotte, NC by this summer. I have searched homes and had some sent to me by my realtor, but none of the houses have a crawl space. Is this the norm for the Charlotte area? I currently still live at home with my parents in SC (20 min from Georgia). Our house has a crawl space and so this is what I’m used to. What should I expect with a slab foundation? Is it anything to worry about as a first time home buyer?

We’re a black family looking to move to an area with a great high school – one that has some diversity. Looking for a great upscale apartment first – to get the lay of the land before settling on an area for home purchase. Would the Raleigh-Durham area have better possibilities? Please help!
To clarify, I’m familiar with school websites, rental websites, etc. What I’m really looking for is insight into the quality of life in the area: are there families – parents of a young african american teen(s) attending high school that could shed some light on the school their child(ren) attend – pros and cons?Safety; school environment, neighborhood environment, etc?

One can research and view photos and virtual tours all day long, however, I’d like to hear from someone actually living in the area and get first-hand thoughts and advice if possible.

Relocating to another state can be so much easier when you’re armed with good information – especially with a 14-year-old son who will be starting all over again making friends and becoming involved in a new school and neighborhood.

My brother passed away in North Carolina and I am in charge of selling his Condo. I want to use an attorney as little as possible, but will when I need to. What do I need to do to get the deed transferred to my parents so I can sell the Condo for them.
