So my husband came home the other day and said he might have an opportunity with the company he’s working for, to expand it to another city (because for right now it’s just in the Charlotte area mostly). His boss said that he’d like to grow his business to some city like Raleigh or Atlanta (somewhere still close to Charlotte) which would mean we would have to move our family there. Again, this is just a dream of his boss’ so it’s not something that will happen or has to happen. The thing that scares me is that I have a 2 year old and 7 month old and both of our families are less than 30 minutes away and we see them a lot and I rely on mom a lot and I think that’s what scares me the most. I would of course probably not be working if we did move (because right now I only work mornings and would want a place like that but really probably couldn’t afford daycare) so I wouldn’t need to rely on my parents to watch the kids if needed, but I would be moving to a new city where we didn’t know anyone. Has anyone relocated and what was your experience? Also, would you choose Raleigh or Atlanta for a young family?

My mom and I are going to the Metallica concert October 18 in Charlotte. Period. But any tickets we can find are either out of our price range or in the nosebleed section. So I was wondering if you got tickets, in say, 225, if you could just walk down to the floor right up in the front of the stage. If anyone knows. Please tell, thanks.

My friend said its strange there and stuff but I was wondering how interesting it might seem to a teenager because I always hear about how its a good place for "family"..u know kids and old folks….

If ur from NC have u been bit by tics, snakes, and spiders??(I hear that those are very commom down there)

I dont know i just want to know about where im going, if i go there, by some people around my age.

Actually, Cary,NC was rated one of the safest places in the U.S…..so if its high in Cary then its even higher in many other places…
wow…those two last answers were harsh….My mother was reasearching raleigh and chapel hill or wutever but a friend of my mom recommended cary to her…maybe i should tell her that raleigh is more interesting or something…

We live in Ohio in a old farm house. My dad is a semi driver and is only home on the weekends. My mom and I so badly wants to move to North Carolina. I just bought one. I know I need a Drivers, License, helmet. Can I ask where I buy insurance? I have headlight, turn signals, horn. Do they allow them on bike paths? I would be too afraid to drive one on the highway. I know there is help on the internet, but I check on South Carolina and could find no information on the one I checked. Anyone have another link to electric scooters in South carolina. Also, how can I find out how long one holds a charge? I do not want to drive this one to the bank and on the way home it stops, so could someone tell me how long the charge lasts, say three to four hours. Any information on them would be helpfull. My moms is about to retire after 37yrs in social service. For some reason she is thinking NC as a place to retire. Me being the baby boy, me and my young son are tagging along. She doesn’t drive – but I do. I work in admissions for a college, but I don’t have a degree. I have worked in corporate america since I was 18, I am now 29. I have relocated before to memphis and louisville KY – My mom is also on the thirfty side if you know what I mean. She will sale her house in chicago and will have a nice something to retire on. But me – I am currently in the mid 40′s as a salary – but I have no degree. What am I getting myself into? Low cost of living means they don’t pay anything – would this be correct? What are the big companies in NC. We are also looking to purchase a house but NOT in the hood – but with a decent school and public transportation as well. Any responces will help – All I know is Charlotte is by the water. And info would be great. This is Corporatethugz – holla back
For what it’s worth – I do live with my son now – not with my mother. She asked me to relocate with her – I guess this questions was for he adults – And as I started in the first question, I don’t know anything about Charlotte – I checked the map and I saw water – slow ya roll – if you don’t have anything positive to add – keep it moving……..
