North Carolina Beach Wedding during the off season?

I was recently engaged (Jan 29th) and My fiance and I would like to have a beach wedding in North Carolina. We are thinking about doing an off season wedding due to the fact that it will be not only more intimate but it will also be cheaper. We are hoping to have about 150 or 175 guests at the wedding coming in from all over the east coast. My questions are a) what is the off season for NC beaches? b) what are some good beaches to consider? c) what are some good venues?

Relocation to Charlotte?

I’m a single 29/f looking to relocate back to the East coast. I love the state of North Carolina and am seriously considering Charlotte. My problem is, I don’t really know any other single folks there to get an idea of the singles scene. I would be purchasing a condo/home and working from home. Can anyone give me an idea of what Charlotte is like for single young professionals?

Need some help with my idea of relocating? to fine tune it or leave it as is. Needs some opinions and suggest?

my wife and i are leaving houston. We are charlotte bound. We took a nice trip in august and we love it. And we are both in banking so the city is just what we need. Plus where we want to live is only 15-20 minutes from the city and the traffic is nowhere as bad as Houston.

So here goes my plan. We own a house here in Houston & have a prepayment penalty up in May. So we figured we would put the house up in March-April, assuming it takes 90-120 days to sell on average here. That and I dont want to sell before May to avoid the PrePymtPntly.

We want to start building a house in Charlotte from the ground up in Feb-March. A house takes maybe 6 months to build so that takes us into August-September.

By that time the house will have been up for sale from April until August/September. 5-6 months. If it does not sell then we can put it up for lease or may do that from the start.

employment, we figured we would ask around the time the house will be built in charlotte 4 a transfer
And we will be moving to Matthews North Carolina. Not into Charlotte as I have posted topics like this before and people only answered with Charlotte is the pits and crap like that. Just need some opinions on the relocation process. I hate Houston or little Meixco as it should be aptly named, and all the crime and traffic and my wife and I are both from the east coast. So please only sincere answers about relocating and the process please

North Carolina?

Hi! I’m a nursing student due to graduate in December 2008. I currently live in northeast Pennsylvania, and plan to work here for a year or two while I save some money to move elsewhere.
I’ve been searching Realtor.com for the last year looking for low priced but nice homes in an area near the Atlantic Ocean. So far the only place that I’ve found is Elizabeth City and surrounding areas in North Carolina.
Can anyone tell me information about that area (besides what I’ve found on elizcity.com and wikipedia)? Are there plenty of jobs for health care workers? What is the average starting salary for an LPN? Is there a bad reason why homes are so reasonable in the area? Is there a different area that would be better for me?
Detailed answers are more likely to recieve a best answer pick from me. Links to other sites would be helpful but are not necessary.
Thank you.
- Ed
Ideally, I’d prefer to be closer to my parents (who live in PA), say maybe in Maryland or New Jersey, but I can’t find an area in those places where you can get a home like I want (2 bedroom, 1.5 baths, 2 car garage, single story, dining room, laundry room, fireplace, central air, yard) for under 5,000. Elizabeth City and the surrounding counties is the only place on the east coast that provides this, unless YOU know of somewhere better.

Real estate – Short Sale: before I make an offer?

I found a really nice house that is a short sale listed for 5k and am thinking of making an offer. My realtor told me to offer full price. In Charlotte, NC, one of the fastest growing cities in the east coast, has been booming, but however there are a ton of inventory on the market due to this subprime mess and a huge list of foreclosures.

The previous owner purchased the house brand new for 8k 2 years ago.

Question – In a short sale deal, what is a good price to offer? Houses in this area are selling from 0-0k. The house I’m looking at is listed for 5k…again, a short sale.

I’m thinking my realtor thinks I’m stupid when I was told to offer full price, because there are a couple of offers still on the table and banks are waiting on a better offer.

Any advice?
Thanks appraiser! I should fire my realtor!
